- PostgreSQL 8.0.2 out soon. NOTE: the PostgreSQL library libpq has changed major number. You will need to rebuild applications that use it. 2Q has now replaced the possibly patent-encumbered ARC. Various fixes to PLs have gone in, and the usual flock of clever improvements and bug fixes. More details at

- Last week's PostgreSQL Weekly News drew accolades like the follwong: "I realized it was a joke after the second paragraph. Expletives were flying after the first!" "Consider me punk'd :)" Some PostgreSQL project members will be working with SpikeSource to "certify" PostgreSQL as part of their "supported Open Source stack". The big benefit of this is getting systematic daily testing of PostgreSQL's integration with other common OSS software, such as our JDBC driver, Hibernate and PHP.
